Get to Know Us
Here at Covenant Shelter, we've been a supportive neighbor in New London County and surrounding areas for over 40 years. We offer safe haven and resources to homeless adult males and families in need.

Our comfortable shelter provides 33 beds, with additional space available during winter and emergencies. This includes separate floors for adult males (14 dorm-style beds) and families (5 rooms with 19 beds total). Family rooms can accommodate up to 8 people, while some accommodate 3-4 ensuring flexibility for various family sizes. On average, we help 28 clients each month rebuild their lives.

Getting help is easy. We partner with the Coordinated Access Network (CAN) through 211 where 100% of our clients are referred through the 211 processes. You can find us on our website or get information through the United Way. Additionally, local agencies, shelters, and CAN hubs (Always Home for families, New London Homeless and Hospitality Center for singles) can connect you with our services.

We welcome everyone in need with open arms. Beyond contacting 211, there are minimal barriers to entry. Your safety is our priority, so we discuss safety expectations at intake with everyone. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol on-site to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.

There are no requirements beyond experiencing homelessness or the threat of homelessness to access our services. We don't require program participation, sobriety, or fees.

Located conveniently in downtown New London, with public transportation readily available, we're here for you. Our dedicated team is committed to providing inclusive and respectful services to everyone who walks through our doors.
